Welcome to NatureKids!

At NatureKids, our philosophy is simple -
We believe that children are at their best when given the freedom to choose what they want to do, in a natural environment, within safe limits.
We run in both Central Lewes, and at our woodland site- just 10 minutes down the road.
Our beautiful sites give kids the opportunity to do just that - to create their own day, their way.
Whether that’s playing games, exploring, den building, tree climbing, creating things, or a whole host of other activities; NatureKids are free to choose for themselves.
We are screen-free, device-free, and believe in the value of good, natural fun.
Our beautiful site in Central Lewes is surrounded by a stunning garden, with trees and wild flowers. Here, we play games, sing songs, create and have fun! We take Adventure Trips to local, natural spots to play, run around and explore, and even have some Big Adventure Days when we are out adventuring all day! Together we skip, sing, catch bugs, use binoculars, look for local wildlife, eat lunch, and play games together, all surrounded by the South Downs National Park.
Surrounded by fields on all sides, and with stunning views, our lovely Woodland site gives NatureKids the opportunity to play, create, explore, make muddy potions, hunt for bugs …
We have a Chill Out Zone for quiet time, a Creativity Area for making things, and a Base Camp to meet up and hang out and chat. We are lucky enough to be based in our very own lovely little woods - great for exploring and adventuring, or just digging with sticks. We also have two large open areas - ideal for playing games, creating a play, or even writing some songs!
Our dedicated staff team are always on hand to help- to suggest ideas, ask questions, encourage kids to think for themselves, and to get involved - NatureKids staff love to play!

Community is at the heart of what we do.
We meet every morning for an opening circle, welcoming newcomers and sharing our thoughts for the day. NatureKids are then free to play / create / explore / relax as they choose.
We always eat lunch together, and meet for a closing circle at the end of the day- a chance to reconnect with the group, and show others what we’ve been up to during the day.
We work with a respect for the natural environment, and for each other.
We encourage children to listen to each other, listen to themselves, and rest when they need to.

Creativity and Play

Independence
Creativity and Play are both hugely important to us at NatureKids.
We value imagination and freedom of expression, and take nature as our inspiration.
Everything we do is completely child led.
We value independence, self motivation,
open mindedness, and resilience.
NatureKids are encouraged to pack their own lunchboxes, think about what they might need for their day, and take care of their things.

My daughter Arbella absolutely loves NatureKids! It’s so nice to have a holiday club where the kids are immersed in nature, learning skills and having so much fun! Climbing trees, making fires, playing games and building dens in the woods- that’s what childhood should be about. Zoe is amazing and balances structure with giving the kids freedom to make choices and encourages independence. Highly recommend!
